Joint Third Prize was given to Bayston Road in Hackney, by Al-Jawad Pike – a large singular space of exposed brickwork, timber and concrete, with a roof-light flooding the centre of the house with light.

According to the architects, Al-Jawad Pike is a London based architectural studio whose co-founders share over 18 year’s-worth combined experience at one of the most well- respected architecture practices in the UK.
Having met at the Bartlett over ten years previously, Dean and Jessam launched their own practice in 2014 with a strong emphasis on the design and delivery of high quality design and architecture, tailored to the needs of each client.
The winning projects will now be featured in a dedicated magazine and a three-month exhibition of London’s 120 best home extension projects.

The free exhibition will be shown at NLA’s Galleries at The Building Centre, from 26 January to 20 April 2018.
