A Path in the Forest
The architects say this about the project:
“In the elegant woods of Kadriorg, we added a path.
A path which relies on the forest as it flutters through the woods with over 300 years of age.
I feel that the appearance of the woods slightly changes when you walk along this path. We no longer are looking up at the woods from the ground but we get closer to the leaves and sliver through the branches.”

Lasva Water Tower Building
Lasva Water Tower is pretty much off the beaten track. The traditional route for young people born in the periphery on the outskirts of Europe would be to move to a nearby urban centre, onto the capital and maybe onto a wealthier city as part of how to survive.

Sauna Building in Estonia
It sometimes happens that houses are located by the sea. Often these houses include a sauna in this part of the world. The ‘heart’ of the sauna, hot room (also known as vapour bath or steam room), might also stand apart from the dwelling. The current hot room takes this to the extreme: from the inside, a maximum view of the sea, and from the outside, a minimal visual impact. This was the result of a common wish of both the client and the architects to explore and test the limits of this ancient and vital function in this region – not to forget the functionality while playing with form.

Estonian Centre of Architecture and TAB Tallinn Architecture Biennale
TAB Tallinn Architecture Biennale main exhibition “11FLIRTS” at Kadriorg Palace, Tallinn, opens during the Gala of TAB Tallinn Architecture Biennale on the 9th of September, and remains open until the 25th of September. “11FLIRTS” deals with experimental architecture and relates it to the context of an existing Baroque palace and art museum. “Architecture is used to be the background or backdrop for things created by man. Like the show pieces in a museum. But what if one inserts architecture in the gaps left by art? Architecture becomes an object and environment at the same time. This change in scale and relations gives the spectator tools to access the new understanding about the abilities of architecture.”
