University of Bristol Library
The University of Bristol has submitted a planning application for its landmark new library, which will transform the heart of its Clifton campus and provide an architecturally significant new building for the city, along with improved external public spaces. Lancaster University Library Extension
An £11m, four-storey extension of Lancaster University Library, designed by Scott Brownrigg, has started on site. The scheme will expand the amount of study space in the Library by 2,562 square metres. The expansion reflects the University’s growing campus population. Sitting at the heart of the campus, the Library provides space and facilities to support the learning, teaching and research of students and staff of the University.

Brynmor Jones Library at the University of Hull
Completion of the £28m transformation of the Brynmor Jones Library where poet Philip Larkin was a librarian. The 16,000m2 project involves the complete refurbishment of the library’s two buildings – the 1956 original Art Deco building, and the eight-storey plus basement Brutalist building that was added in the 1960s – with a newly formed central atrium space improving the connectivity between the two.

The Hive, Worcester
The Hive which will open in July is the UK’s first purpose-built joint-use library serving the University of Worcester and the county that incorporates the county archive, a local history centre, accommodation for the County Archaeologist’s team and a ‘one stop shop’ for the local authority: It’s a pioneering response to the challenge of providing a wide range of public services in an age of austerity whilst promoting social and environmental sustainability.
