Lingjie AR.Design Reimagines Luxury Retail Through Quiet Architecture
Lingjie AR.Design has completed the Progress Brand Showroom in Taizhou in April 2025, a flagship multi-brand showroom for leading ceramic manufacturers. Instead of adopting the typical grand gestures associated with luxury retail, the design introduces a new model of “quiet luxury”: a flowing architectural language, a humble material palette, and a calm street presence.
A Low-Key Landmark: Architectural Poetry in the City
Located at the end of a prominent urban block, the site enjoys exceptional visibility. Instead of amplifying this advantage with overt spectacle, Lingji AR. Design adopt a counterintuitive strategy: quiet presence over visual dominance.
The façade is shaped through a series of meticulous, free-flowing geometries—neither iconic nor imposing, but gently expressive. By avoiding exaggerated forms and overly artificial materials, The Pavilion stands in the streetscape like a poetic architectural gesture, quietly in tune with the city’s daily bustle.
The overall space is arranged across two levels: the ground floor is dedicated to the display and experience of Progress ceramic products, while the upper floor accommodates administrative and office functions.
A Free-Flowing Spatial Experience
Inside, the movement of the interior unfolds like a continuous gesture. Shapes turn sharply or soften into calm surfaces; moments feel fluid like spring water or still as a mirror. Visitors navigate the space intuitively, experiencing a sense of ease rarely associated with traditional luxury retail.

A Humble Spatial Attitude: Material as Background

Because the ceramic products are themselves the core material of the brand, the interior adopts a self-effacing, almost retreating stance. Materials are selected with a humble, quiet presence—always supportive, never competing.
The careful combination of form and materiality creates a spatial rhythm: subtle, layered, and aligned with the theme of effortless experience.
Custom Display System: Functional Aesthetics
To frame the products with equal intentionality, Lingjie AR. Design developed a tailor-made display system for the Pavilion. Wood structures combine with ceramic pieces to add warmth and natural tactility, strengthening the dialogue between surface and structure.
Modular, systematic, and endlessly extendable, the display elements transition fluidly between storage and presentation, offering long-term adaptability as the brand evolves.
A New Model for Luxury Retail
Through its flowing lines, soft urban presence, and restrained material palette, the Progress Brand Pavilion proposes a fresh spatial model for the luxury ceramics sector—one grounded in humility, clarity, and sensory freedom.
Here, the brand does not announce itself; it quietly integrates into the city. The design invites visitors not into a stage-set for luxury, but into a poetic, calm, and honest environment where the products—and the experience—speak for themselves.
