The existing site included a small house and barn that were kept to serve as a workshop. The architects cleared the site and designed a new 4,200-sf modern courtyard residence centered around a 55-foot lap pool. Both the main house and the guest house wrap the central courtyard, creating an inward-focused retreat and a protected outdoor living environment.

The project was designed for a San Francisco family seeking a quiet place to gather and spend time in nature. Natural materials, generous glazing, and extended roof eaves help the home blend into its landscape while supporting year-round indoor–outdoor living.

We are unable to disclose much about the location of this completed design for a private retreat with lap pool and guest house located in Sonoma County for a private client.

We utilized an architectural 3d rendering and visualization studio in Ukraine during the war in order to support the design professional community there.

We enjoyed sharing our work with them and found they could render to accuracy compared to photographs or provide imaginative alternatives for settings and materials. It was a pleasure to work with Fortes Vision and be able to share this work with our community.
