Brasilia is a planned city. The capital of Brazil was inaugurated in 1960, in the central area of the country. In 1955 the area resembled a desert, with no people, scarce water, few animals and plants.
President Juscelino Kubitschek invited the best Brazilian architects and urbanists to present projects for the new capital.
Oscar Niemeyer, one of the most famous world’s architects, combined straight and rounded shapes to create innovative architectural masterpieces. Lucio Costa, renowned Brazilian urbanist, devised a lay-out combining beautiness, simplicity and functionality.

This architecture office “works as a collaborative space”. The architects organize themselves in different groups for each project as to incorporate different talents, interests and ideas to the creation and development processes. For the architects every project should express the specific characteristics of its program, client and context, without following styles or pre-defined models.
