The Ed Miró media kit presents a revolutionary residential concept, introducing duplex apartments with mezzanines that evoke the feeling of “houses in the sky.” This innovative design engages seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, providing a unique and diverse range of typologies within a single development.

Inspired by the traditional houses of Minas Gerais, the project combines lofty ceilings, inviting mezzanines, and expansive windows that frame breathtaking views of the mountains. The development’s strategic location in Curimataí, Buenópolis, Brazil, offers stunning vistas of the Vale do Sereno, while also ensuring optimal sunlight exposure for all apartments.

The project’s constructive rationality and adherence to fundamental architectural principles, such as sectorization, isolation, and views, have been carefully considered to create a truly exceptional living experience.

With the entire project, from conceptualization to completion, developed by the renowned Studio Henrique Hoffman, the Ed Miró residential complex is set to redefine the region’s residential landscape, offering a distinctive and innovative living space that harmoniously blends functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Could you elaborate on the inspiration behind the houses in the sky concept and how it translates into the duplex apartments with mezzanines? How does this design philosophy aim to redefine urban living?

The “houses in the sky” concept was directly inspired by the architect’s childhood memories of homes in the countryside of Minas Gerais: spaces marked by high ceilings, cozy mezzanines, and large windows framing views of the mountains. In the Miró project, these emotional references evolve into a contemporary urban solution: duplex apartments with mezzanines that recreate the spatial generosity and verticality of those rural houses, but now elevated above the city.

By bringing this typology into a high-rise, the design redefines urban living by breaking away from conventional apartment layouts and offering more diverse, expressive, and personalized spatial experiences within the same development. The result is a building that engages with the landscape, expands the perception of interior space, and introduces a new residential model for the region.

The description mentions engaging with the landscape. How was the unique natural setting of Vale do Sereno, Nova Lima/MG, considered and incorporated into the architectural design of Ed Miró? What specific features facilitate this connection?

The natural landscape of Minas Gerais has always been a strong reference in my work, and for Miró, we intentionally brought this sensibility into the architectural concept. Even though the building is located in an urban context, the design draws heavily from the spatial qualities I associate with places like Vale do Sereno and the wider landscape of Nova Lima – wide horizons, elevated views, and an intimate relationship between interior spaces and the surrounding topography.

To translate this into architecture, we prioritized openings and orientations that maximize direct engagement with Vale do Sereno. All units are positioned to face the best natural vistas, and the curved facade allows the interiors to unfold gradually toward the landscape, almost like a panoramic frame.

How do you envision Ed Miró contributing to the architectural landscape and community of Vale do Sereno? Are there any future phases or similar projects planned that build upon the success and design principles of Ed Miró?

I see Miró as a project that helps broaden the architectural dialogue in Vale do Sereno. The region has been evolving rapidly, and Miró contributes by introducing a residential model that emphasizes spatial quality, connection to the landscape, and constructive rationality. My intention was to show that it’s possible to innovate not only through form, but through how people actually experience their homes – with light, amplitude, and a sense of calm elevated living.

Regarding future phases, Miró has become a reference point for us. Its success has strengthened our commitment to exploring typologies that combine emotional memory, landscape integration, and technical rigor. We are already studying new projects in the region that build upon these principles . Developments that continue this pursuit of vertical spatiality, flexible living formats, and a strong relationship with the environment.

While each future project will have its own identity, the core values that shaped Miró – integrity, innovation, and human-centered design – will remain at the heart of everything we create.
