The chair of this year’s jury is the landscape architect Jenny B. Osuldsen representing Snøhetta, the Norwegian practice famed for landmark projects including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Oslo Opera House and the 9/11 Memorial Pavilion on Ground Zero in New York. Her fellow jury members are Marko Kivistö, known as one of the main designers of the Helsinki Music Centre (LPR Architects), and Professor Sari Schulman, whose architectural practice specializes in challenging renovation and refurbishment projects.
A total of 99 projects were nominated this year. The jury introduced a new concept this year by grouping the projects under three headings: culture, learning, home & work.
