Now in its 19th edition, the awards are organised by the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER) with the aim of recognising international projects that innovatively use Spanish-made ceramics.

A total prize fund of €39,000 will be divided between three categories, which will highlight creativity in architecture, interior design and a final degree project by an architecture student.
This year, the winners of the two main prizes – Architecture and Interior Design – will each receive €17,000, while the winner of the Final Degree project will receive €5,000.
Every year a panel of judges comprising some of the world’s most respected architectural and design professionals reviews a wide spectrum of entries from both Spain and abroad.
In 2019 the jury awarded first prize in the Architecture Category to PICHarchitects_Pich-Aguilera and 2BMFG Arquitectes for the Santa Creu and Sant Pau Hospital Research centre in Barcelona, which featured a permeable ceramic envelope on its facade. In the Interior Design Category, ‘Waiting room within the platforms of a bus station’ in Badajoz by José María Sánchez Garcia took first prize for its elegant use of a ceramic material.
Entry to this year’s awards is free and submissions are being accepted from now until 23 October 2020. Projects entered must have been completed between January 2018 and October 2020.
