MA! Architecture Tour 2018

Since 2007, Atlanta Design Festival has presented a series of architecture tours providing exclusive access to the best residential, commercial and contract design in the city from both established and emerging architects and design studios.

The nationally recognised tour introduces the latest trends in sustainable materials, architectural systems and interior design to a captive audience of decision-makers and the general public.
2018 will be no different with tours taking place in Asheville, North Carolina (May 27th, 2018), Serenbe (May 28th, 2018), and Atlanta, Georgia (June 2-3, 2018). MA! have also partnered with Atlanta Magazine HOME to present their Modern Style Show House as part of the tour, showcasing two modern homes design by Atlanta-based architect Jordache Avery of Xmetrical.

Showrooms

Integral to the festival are the local resident design showrooms, many of whom partner with MA!, offering an array of stimulating topic-led events including talks, workshops, installations and product launches. Over 75 design brands have committed to Design is Human in the past 10 years, including high-end furniture, lighting, kitchen and bathroom brands alongside specialist manufacturers.

A selection of showrooms taking part in the 2018 festival include: Roche Bobois, BoConcept, Illuminations, Design Within Reach and Room & Board.

Design Economy Philosophy
Atlanta Design Festival 2018 seeks to develop Atlanta’s growing design economy revolution including promoting industry, commerce and culture. Billions annually is spent directly and indirectly on design in Atlanta and the southeast; and decision-makers are increasingly looking for new and imaginative products and solutions that bring bold ideas to life.

For 2018, MA! have commissioned Ortus Economic Research to create a report showing how much the design industries contribute to the local economy in Georgia. Ortus were guests in 2017 where they presented the evidence they produced for the UK Design Council’s Design Economy Report. Ortus will present their evidence during the festival at the High Museum of Art.
