The sloping roofs of this new Portuguese building try to form a dialogue with the geometry of the mountain landscape. The dynamism achieved is augmented by a vivid red colour applied to the facades.

MAGMA Arts and Congress appears as a reference point amongst anonymous buildings. The semi-desert landscape around it and the proximity of the sea, an imposing presence that frames the building establishing a strong relationship between both, an impressive view over La Gomera island, are the starting points of the concept of the building.

A fascinating organic building, the “Friendly Alien”, an invention by those architectural mavericks Cook and fournier, eschewing the white box approach. The building features a ‘technoid media facade’ of fluorescent lamps on which images and animations can be shown in rough definition.
