Chicago Navy Pier Redesign Competition, Illinois, USA : Shortlist of 5 architects

The design team is headed by !melk principal Jerry Van Eyck, a former partner of the renowned Netherlands based landscape and urban design firm West 8. Van Eyck has realized numerous cutting-edge landscape-centered projects around the globe.

The project was launched when I was commissioned to enlarge a house for a couple in their 30’s and their three daughters living in Yamanashi Prefecture. On my first visit there, I found the houses of one story and two stories both stand close together but that there remain some empty lots, farming fields, wooded areas and unpaved roads.
The Clyfford Still Museum, Denver, CO, USA : Brad Cloepfil + Allied Works Architecture

Following an international architecture competition in 2006, Allied Works was selected to design the single artist museum dedicated to the work of Clyfford Still. Opened to the public on November 18th, the museum houses 94% of Still’s total creative output, spanning nearly six decades of work.

In recent years Georgia has undergone considerable development and as a result has moved its Parliament from the capital Tbilisi to the city of Kutaisi, a city which is also home to a large university and student population. Following the cessation of heavy industry exports to Russia, the city experienced a difficult economic period.
Chapel in Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico : Di Vece Arquitectos

The architectonic concept for this ecumenical chapel is that the countless columns that disorderly support the rectangular roof for the chapel, are conceived as an analogy of a group of filaments that, when lit with the proper energy, can illuminate our earthly lives with a glimpse of heavenly light.
Marischal College Aberdeen, Scotland : Holmes – photos

Marischal College in Aberdeen is one of the largest, and finest, granite buildings in the world. The historic property has been restored to the ‘Silver City’s’ skyline once again, after a major £40 million redevelopment by Holmes Architects.

The Bavarian town of Inzell hosted the World Single Distant Speed Skating Championships 2011. To create the world-class competition conditions required for this event, the existing outdoor speed-skating track was upgraded through the construction of a high-performance intelligent roof structure.
St. Barbara’s Bastion Malta : Architecture Project

The brief for this project centered on three major elements. The first was the creation of an office space in an old building which would include all the qualities necessary for a contemporary working space; light, clarity, comfort and ease of access.
