The transformation of the museum’s upper gallery levels carefully balances the institution’s historic character with a contemporary vision for learning and public engagement. Rising 302 meters above Sheikh Zayed Road, Wasl Tower occupies a prominent position in the heart of Dubai, adjacent to the Burj Khalifa and within one of the city’s most significant urban corridors. Completed in late 2025, the tower establishes a distinctive presence on the skyline through its sculpted form and innovative material expression. Central to its architectural identity is one of the world’s tallest terracotta ceramic façades, demonstrating the potential of this enduring material in contemporary high-rise construction. Beyond its visual character, the façade leverages the inherent environmental performance of terracotta, contributing to solar shading, thermal efficiency, and long-term durability. Through the integration of advanced engineering and passive design principles, Wasl Tower sets a new regional benchmark for sustainable material innovation within tall-building architecture.

The architectural design approach responds directly to Turin’s built environment. The city is characterized by sober façades and clear geometries, while its interiors often reveal richer, more intricate spatial experiences. The new metro line draws on this contrast, transitioning from a restrained exterior to more welcoming and distinctive interior spaces. In doing so, it creates a dialogue between traditional and contemporary architecture, allowing both to relate clearly to the city’s historical identity.

The Bridge Tower, designed by UNS for Ghelamco in collaboration with local partner Projekt Polsko-Belgijska Pracownia Architektury, has been completed in Warsaw, Poland. The project introduces a contemporary office tower that carefully negotiates the relationship between new development and the city’s architectural heritage. Central to the design is its connection to the historic Bellona building, a former printing house and protected local landmark, creating a dialogue between the site’s industrial past and its future as a modern business destination. Beyond the buildings themselves, the project extends its influence into the surrounding urban fabric through the thoughtful integration of public spaces, strengthening pedestrian connections and contributing to a more active and accessible city environment.
