New gallery to house the Portland Collection
The new gallery, which officially opened to the public on 20 March 2016, will show changing displays of the historic Portland Collection, one of the finest accumulations of paintings, sculpture, books, tapestries and furniture in private hands in Britain.

The Old Royal Naval College Conservation by Hugh Broughton Architects
• Hugh Broughton Architects have been commissioned by The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich to lead the professional team for Phase II of the project to conserve the Painted Hall.
• Decorated between 1708 and 1727 by Sir James Thornhill, the Painted Hall is a masterpiece of baroque art and a highlight of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site
• The first phase of the conservation project was completed in 2012 with 560 square metres of paintings cleaned and conserved to dramatic effect
• The second phase will conserve the remaining 3,700 square metres of the Hall and deliver a new visitor reception in the undercroft below

Harley Gallery Nottinghamshire – New art gallery for the Harley Foundation, England

Malcolm Reading Consultants (MRC) announce that Hugh Broughton Architects (HBA) has won the invited competition to design a new art gallery for the Harley Foundation on the Welbeck Estate in Nottinghamshire.
HBA narrowly beat Caruso St John Architects. Six practices were shortlisted in the closely-run contest for the £5 million scheme; the others were Dow Jones Architects, Gianni Botsford Architects, Haworth Tompkins Architects and Tony Fretton Architects.

The Architect of the Year 2012, England
Housing design specialist ABA, the business founded by Canadian-born architect Alison Brooks, has been named the UK’s best architecture practice at the Architect of the Year Awards in London.
Other award winners included the architects of the Olympic Eton Manor venue, Stanton Williams, and the architect behind the ground-breaking design of the Halley IV Antarctic Research Station for the British Antarctic Survey, Hugh Broughton.
