Outside IN House
The design of Outside IN House consists in bringing the exterior materials to the interior. The materials carry ambivalent meanings of a vernacular form. On one side Outside IN Homes are functional and domestic. A thinking-home has passive solar elements to contain, save, and distribute solar energy for diurnal warmth, cooling, and illumination.
Chile Architecture Studio Practice Information
This architecture practice explores the medium of architecture in its active condition. The firm’s portfolio of commissioned and conceptual work is comprised of projects that apply research, and technology to a range of scales and contexts. Vuilleumier is passionate about material innovation and brings her vast knowledge of low-tech materials together with emerging digital technology to propose well-rounded architectural solutions that are critical of convention and demanding of performance.
Vuilleumier’s interests are not satisfied with the creation of a discrete object. Her work strives to harness relationships between nature, materials, structure and human perception that shape our understanding of built environments. Hypothetical work and experimentation expand upon theories of interconnectivity and inform the complex tectonic language of FVS and proposal for provocative environments.

This building is inviting, it signals an openness towards the community that surrounds it. Qualities like transparency and welcoming spaces create the type of place where people gather together. The architects propose a building that invites one to linger, that promotes the interaction between people and art, in all its manifestations.
