When Swedish decided to build a new multiple sclerosis clinic, the goal was to create a place where people with MS could achieve maximum wellness. From a design perspective, this meant utilizing evidence-based design in coordination with research on the common physical conditions and effects of the built environment. To achieve this, the Multiple Sclerosis Center incorporates specific finishes and design features that enable patients to engage the space more easily. The “Living Wall” is a testament to this design approach, ensuring intuitive wayfinding as well as contributing to wellbeing and improved indoor air quality.
