Where two rivers cross and all trees are saved by blowing dirt away, only to refill with no trees harmed while they continue to grow inside and out. Walking the entire outer decks always lets the forest have its way all day outside with you.
Inside is a huge camp, per se, that has insulated curtains all winter and shaded all views all summer.
The fireplace is mighty. The ceiling is soft wood that always speaks of the trees inside and out. To view anywhere, anytime, from the kitchen to the bathroom, is a luxury of camping. One big tree separates the other guest room from the main tree home, with two trees between up the hill where two rivers meet.
Glass towers allow trees to soar through where they were born and thus make the owner feel nature’s history literally where it is made to be. The pool of natural water outside would make Tiberius envey forever more. No matter the season, one can be as close to nature as the silence and animal noise of the forest and running waters. This is about as good as it gets, 1 hr or more from the cities that eat us all.
The description mentions ‘Where inside is out and outside is in.’ Could you elaborate on the architectural philosophy behind this concept and how it was brought to life in Twin River in the Lost Valley?
Where two rivers meet, a new home is born. Trees are saved and continue to grow through the house. Inside is small, so the outside decks are bigger. Simplicity in the forest makes a tent envious, camping in luxury with all of nature inside and out.
