A crown jewel fashion hotel in Orchard Road
Grand Park Orchard is more than a hotel; it is a comfortable haven, a resort and a lifestyle centre – all rolled into one. It is located at the crossing between Orchard Road and Bideford Road, a natural site to capture the attention of passing human and vehicular traffic.

Exploiting this iconic position, Grand Park Orchard’s new design concept was to create an alluring appeal that is idiosyncratic, both at day and night.
While retaining its strong geometric form, the new design dressed the building in a variety of different media, from static cladding, to an animated LED Matrix and even an 8-storey media screen.
These diverse uses of technology allow the building to metamorphosize, thus embodying the transformative nature of fashion and travel.
A distinctive V-shaped pattern known as Herringbone was selected due to its use in creating sophisticated and timeless fabrics for fashion. The incorporation of the herringbone pattern into the glass façade extends this metaphor into the structural fabric of the building.
The LED lightings are integrated onto the façade and enables further programming to create different responses to various festive atmospheres. The illumination heightens the urban hotel room experience while enhancing the spatial quality within the building and along Orchard Road.
Introducing exclusive flagship stores which run parallel to Orchard Road re-conceptualize the footpath as a fashion runway. While each store has its unique characteristics, they are carefully framed and defined by marble-clad pillars to create classic “picture-frame” display zones. The unique plaza design is minimalist with wave-like sculptures floating on reflective sheet of water, presenting the plaza with an alluring fashion backdrop.
The sinuosity between fashion, travel and architecture that is evident in the design of the Grand Park Orchard allows the retail spaces to knit seamlessly with the hotel creating an exciting new hybrid typology on Orchard road.
