New Japanese Residence: Contemporary Property – design by KELUN, architects
14 Aug 2016
Ishikawa House
Design: KELUN
Location: Ishikawa, Chūbu region, Honshū island, Japan
Contemporary Residence in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan
The architects designed a house for a young couple in Ishikawa Prefecture nonoichi of Japan.
The road side was too narrow for occupation, and also too noisy as it faces a crowded street. Thus a planar shape was developed that spread living spaces to the opposite side.
The roas side location would furthermore not provide a window for the afternoon sun.
A compact functional plan was developed with an emphasis on a lean flow line.
Unlike the simple external appearance, the interior is finished to “use a lot of material” according to the architects.
