The original Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre was built in 1979 by the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

This UAE building complex comprises:

– original 39-storey office tower building
– World Trade Centre Residence
– 8 exhibition halls
– the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC)
– business club
– residential apartments
– leisure club facilities

The DICC can accommodate over 4500 delegates in its multipurpose hall.

The DICC has 35,000 sqm of adjoining exhibition space.

Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) / Dubai World Trade Centre is the anchor to the region’s busiest commercial district offering 115,000 sqm of diverse space.

This complex in the city centre – close to Sheikh Zayed Rd in Downtown – can host conferences, world trade fairs, concerts, private functions or a product launch streamed live across the globe.

RMJM were commissioned as lead consultants to design the 13 storey office tower and multi-use exhibition hall located within the Dubai World Trade Centre complex.

The Convention Centre is comprised of 9 exhibition halls, 10 conference halls and 19 meeting rooms. It can accommodate more than 6,500 delegates in just one of its multipurpose halls.

As testament to its functional design, over 1.1 million visitors attended exhibitions, conventions and conferences at the venues in 2008. This was a 10 percent increase from the previous year.
