Lappset Design Competition
New International Architecture Contest in 2009, Finland: Innovative Playgrounds
23 Oct 2009
“Change the way we think about playgrounds”
(Helsinki, 23rd of October 2009) Lappset Group, the well-known and unconventional producer and developer of playgrounds, is organising an Open-For-All Design Competition.
Lappset International Design Competition
The aim of The Lappset International Design Competition is to challenge traditional playground concepts. Lappset is looking for new, inspiring, brave and out-of-the-box ideas for future playgrounds. The core idea is to create a meeting point that unites three different generations; children, teens and the elderly.
The architecture competition is divided into two categories: the Category for Playground Area and the Category for Playground Equipment. Participants can leave their proposals for both categories or, alternatively, for one of them. As the Competition entails two rather different tasks, participants are invited from a wide range of the design profession: Landscape Architects, Architects, Urban Planners, Designers, Graphic Designers, etc. – and naturally students and amateurs in this field. The participants are also encouraged to form Design Groups, where all aspects of the Playground Design are covered.
This playground design competition Prizes totals approx. €7 000. In addition, it is very likely for the winning work to be made or built into a real playground. Any participating work may well end up as part of the Lappset Group’s product range, naturally for a separate compensation.
The Lappset International Design Competition opens on the 2nd of November 2009 and ends on the 20th of November 2009. The competition has no entry fee. Please find more Competition information on www.rethinkingplayground.com.
