Located in Guangzhou, the heart of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, XPENG’s global headquarters spans approximately 360,000 square meters. CCD conceived the spatial design and interior lighting, weaving R&D, AI-driven workplace, brand experience, and human-centered philosophy into a cohesive spatial narrative. XPENG’s iconic “X” logo is translated from a visual symbol into spatial language, creating an interior system that resonates with the company’s identity.
For XPENG, “X” carries multiple layers of meaning: a point of departure for innovation, a technological gesture, and a statement of continuous evolution beyond boundaries.
The headquarters features an “X”-shaped massing composed of staggered, terraced volumes, responding to aviation height limits while echoing XPENG’s iconic emblem. Extending this architectural language into the interior, CCD translates the engineering logic of automotive design into a tangible spatial experience.
Lobby
In the lobby, XPENG’s signature headlight contour is reinterpreted as luminous trajectories, establishing a fluid visual rhythm.
An XPENG vehicle appears to float horizontally above a monumental curved digital art screen, where dynamic light and imagery create an immersive sense of motion and a futuristic atmosphere. As the visual centerpiece, the installation echoes the sleek architectural lines and surrounding columns finished with automotive paint, weaving a dialogue between industrial precision and futuristic sensibility.
The reception counter features an asymmetric geometric profile reminiscent of a starship’s wing, echoing XPENG’s exploration of flight and speed. Under sculpted lighting, its form seems to dissolve into the surroundings, leaving behind a sharp, dynamic line.
Showroom & Brand Experience
The showroom reimagines spatial order through the concept of a “vortex.” A sweeping gray ribbon spirals upward in a 360-degree motion, enhancing spatial efficiency while establishing a strong sense of visual gravity. Mirrored reflections conjure an “inverted parallel world,” extending visual perception and blurring the boundary between reality and illusion. Curved walls integrate recessed display niches that seem to grow organically from the interior, transforming product presentation into a fluid spatial gesture.
At the corporate exhibition area, static structural columns are animated through digital media. Through multi-screen technology, imagery flows and leaps between the columns, imbuing the space with digital vitality. Metallic ring installations, inspired by planetary orbits, showcase vehicle models and drones, symbolizing XPENG’s vision of a multidimensional mobility ecosystem.
In the atrium, natural daylight is filtered into rhythmic geometric fragments that draw the gaze upward, forming a subtle metaphor for ascent. Soft curvilinear edges temper the space’s visual weight, where orthogonal and circular forms, linear and curved elements, solid and void converge in a measured spatial dialogue.
Office Area
The office layout draws on the openness and intersecting logic of “X,” creating a flexible ecosystem that fosters co-creation. Angular staircases become spatial connectors, linking different levels seamlessly. Transparent glass balustrades and white structural frames draw daylight deep into the interior, dissolving physical boundaries and establishing visual continuity across floors.
Responding to evolving work patterns, leisure areas are interwoven with fixed workspaces. Modular furniture systems can be swiftly reconfigured into brainstorming hubs, focused work areas, or impromptu meeting corners—supporting seamless transitions between different modes of work.
In meeting rooms, the ceiling’s geometric articulation forms an abstract butterfly-wing pattern, evoking the soft diffusion of natural daylight. Dark walls paired with beige seating create an interplay of cool and warm tones, adding a sense of calm and refinement to the formal meeting setting.
Transitioning into the stepped communal area, warm timber finishes and fresh green terrazzo evoke a park-like atmosphere. The boundary between work and leisure is intentionally blurred, supporting moments of pause, reading, conversation, and small-scale presentations.
Dining & Leisure
The corridor leading to the dining area is softened by capsule-like curved chamfers, dissolving sharp edges into a flowing geometry. This forms a “time tunnel” that mediates the transition from work to moments of leisure.
The serving area continues the fluid sculptural aesthetic. A pure white island counter, illuminated by linear lighting at its base, appears to hover with a weightless presence. The combination of metal and glass creates a clean, efficient service setting.
In the dining area, recessed and protruding walls, together with arched seating niches, shape a capsule-like sense of privacy. Vibrant yellow accents introduce a lively visual pulse, sparking interaction and inspiration during shared meals.
The private dining room features a circular pendant installation that filters light through misted glass, casting a gentle, warm glow. Muted green and soft beige tones create a subtle interplay, softening the formality of business dining into a more intimate, relaxed atmosphere.
