Paul Davis + Partners aims to raise the bar in ancient Chinese capital

Paul Davis + Partners mixed-use development has started on site in Nanjing, one of China’s ancient capital cities and the second largest commercial centre in the eastern region. La Vita is a 14-storey building, comprising three floors of retail at its base, and 11 floors of luxury apartments and clubhouse facilities above.

Its’ striking glass façade employing a network of steel and aluminium fins, aims to encapsulate the spirit of the city, and spur the regeneration of Nanjing’s central business district where the building is located.

La Vita is for client Accurate International Land and the 18,000sq m building, which is due for completion in mid 2015, will be cooled by a chilled beam system, the first time this has been used in Nanjing. The scheme marks the first stage of an ambitious development by Paul Davis + Partners office in Hong Kong. The next two phases include a 25-storey building and a 300m tall tower and when complete, will form a key landmark in a culturally rich city.
