The site is located in northern Chile, on the coast and faces north with ocean views, allowing for the best views and orientation in a single direction (a rare situation in Chile).

The starting point was to optimize the linear meters of the facade facing the sea, leaving the living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and guest bedroom to the north.

The starting point was to build a simple house with clean lines, where the program could be organized as the relationship between four closed boxes and the void contained within their arrangement.

In this way, the spaces requiring greater privacy were arranged in four low-height wooden containers, and the public program as the space delimited by two reinforced concrete walls, containing the kitchen and fireplace, and the rest of these boxes, and covered by a higher laminated wood ceiling.

The choice of materials emphasized the contrast between these two types of spaces, using heat-treated wood in grayish tones on the exterior and light-colored wood on the interior.

The house’s metal structure, which rests on the terrace and reinforced concrete walls, was galvanized to protect it from the rust of the marine environment and painted black to match the color of the window frames.
