Respect for natural surroundings – including the nature of the location’s individual characteristics, such as sun paths and shadows, wind direction, and terrain – is what ultimately evokes the strongest bond to that nature, allowing the amphitheatre to be an organic and everlasting part of its existence. The materials and technologies chosen serve to complement that theme, allowing for a low impact footprint and meeting recycling/re-use objectives.

The site contains ruins that form part of the UNESCO Pearling Path. The entire building functions as the entrance to the cultural heritage and the foyer for the medina.

This was a single family home which we designed in an upmarket locality of Bahrain called Amwaj Island. The Clients wanted modern architecture and well defined interior areas and high in design value with as less of decoration as possible. The architecture practice planned the home on 3 levels, the lower to have the lounges/dining/kitchen and no beds at all.

The focal point of the development is the twin triangular shaped towers which sit above a sculpted three-story podium. Tapering to a height of 240m, each tower is visually anchored to the ground by a concertina of curved, sail-like forms, and provides 34 floors of office space and an exclusive viewing deck on the 42nd floor.
