The Summit House is set within a mountainous landscape defined by steep slopes and the constant presence of the horizon. The project anchors itself to the hillside and unfolds through a series of horizontal volumes that follow the natural topography, reducing visual impact and minimizing intervention on the terrain.
The orientation and stepped arrangement open the house toward the distant landscape, while the interplay of solid and void regulates sunlight, shade, and protection from the climatic conditions typical of the mountain environment.
Use
The spatial organization prioritizes everyday life in direct relationship with the outdoors. The social areas unfold as a continuous sequence, integrating the living room, dining area, and kitchen, and extending toward galleries and terraces that blur the boundary between interior and landscape.
These outdoor expansions allow for different ways of inhabiting the house depending on the time of day and season. The more private areas are arranged with greater protection, maintaining visual connections with the surroundings while ensuring intimacy and quietness.
Character
The character of the project emerges from the relationship between material, structure, and place. It is built upon an honest and restrained material palette.
The combination of stone, concrete, and wood reinforces the connection to the landscape while conveying a sense of solidity and permanence. The structure is expressed without artifice, and the interior spaces are defined by light, proportion, and material continuity. The house assumes a calm presence, where architecture, landscape, and time establish a balanced and enduring relationship.

A residência se insere em uma paisagem de montanha caracterizada pela inclinação do terreno e pela presença constante do horizonte. O projeto se apoia na encosta e se fragmenta em volumes horizontais que acompanham a topografia natural, reduzindo o impacto visual e as intervenções sobre o solo. A orientação e a disposição em desníveis permitem abrir a casa para a paisagem distante, enquanto o jogo entre cheios e vazios regula a incidência solar, a sombra e a proteção frente às condições climáticas típicas do ambiente serrano.
Uso
A organização espacial prioriza o cotidiano em relação direta com o exterior. Os espaços sociais se desenvolvem de forma contínua, integrando estar, jantar e cozinha em uma sequência que se estende para galerias e terraços, diluindo o limite entre interior e paisagem. Essas expansões permitem diferentes formas de habitar ao longo do dia e das estações. Os setores mais privados se organizam com maior resguardo, mantendo sempre uma relação visual com o entorno, ao mesmo tempo em que garantem intimidade e silêncio.
Caráter
O caráter do projeto surge da relação entre material, estrutura e lugar. Constrói-se a partir de uma materialidade honesta e contida. A combinação de pedra, concreto e madeira reforça o vínculo com a paisagem e transmite uma sensação de solidez e permanência. A estrutura se expressa sem artifícios, e os espaços internos são definidos pela luz, pelas proporções e pela continuidade material. A residência assume uma presença serena, onde arquitetura, paisagem e tempo estabelecem uma relação equilibrada e duradoura.
