Molvento House, Argentina

The lake appears as a constant, almost motionless plane that organizes the perception of the site. From this condition, the architecture adopts a horizontal logic that reduces its impact on the urbanized level while strengthening the relationship with the landscape and the body of water. A series of low planes follow the natural slope of the terrain, framing the views and generating intermediate spaces that protect domestic life without losing the open character of the place.

Use
The house is primarily organized on a main level located below street grade, unfolding through a continuous sequence from the sidewalk into a series of intermediate spaces. The social area develops around a sunken living space and the main stair core.

A covered gallery acts as an interface toward the lake level, extending daytime use while modulating the incoming landscape light. The primary bedroom is positioned along the western party wall, maintaining direct circulation and access to the outdoors. Secondary bedrooms are located at the access level from the street, equally benefiting from the site’s views.

Character
The character of the project is shaped by a conscious relationship with its setting. The house assumes a restrained architectural presence among both natural and built elements. The material palette follows this logic: stone and concrete anchor the house to the ground and the natural landscape, while wood and glazed planes introduce warmth and lightness to the spaces.

Light, water, and horizon engage in dialogue with the architecture, transforming it into a quiet framework from which the landscape can be inhabited.

O lago se apresenta como um plano constante, quase imóvel, que organiza a percepção do lugar. A partir dessa condição, a arquitetura adota uma lógica horizontal que reduz seu impacto no nível da urbanização e reforça a relação com a paisagem e o lago. Uma série de planos baixos acompanha o desnível natural do terreno e enquadra as vistas, configurando espaços intermediários que protegem a vida doméstica sem perder a condição aberta do lugar.

Uso
A residência se organiza principalmente em um pavimento principal, localizado abaixo do nível da rua, a partir de uma sequência contínua desde a calçada até os espaços intermediários. A área social se desenvolve em torno de um estar rebaixado e do núcleo da escada principal.

Uma galeria coberta atua como interface com a cota do lago, ampliando o uso diurno e modulando a luz da paisagem, enquanto o dormitório principal se posiciona junto à divisa oeste, mantendo circulação fluida e acesso direto ao exterior. Os dormitórios secundários se localizam no nível de acesso pela rua, aproveitando igualmente as vistas do lugar.

Caráter
O caráter do projeto se constrói a partir de uma relação consciente com o lugar. A residência assume uma arquitetura contida, inserida entre elementos naturais e construídos. A materialidade acompanha essa lógica: a pedra e o concreto ancoram a casa ao terreno e à paisagem natural, enquanto a madeira e os planos envidraçados conferem calor e leveza aos espaços. A luz, a água e o horizonte dialogam com a arquitetura, transformando-a em um suporte silencioso a partir do qual a paisagem é habitada.
