Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has selected global infrastructure firm AECOM and Luis Vidal + Architects to design the remodeling of Boston Logan International Airport Terminal E. The joint team won a design competition for the project with over 400,000 square feet of new and renovated terminal space.

AECOM will lead the redevelopment as the prime consultant and architect/engineer of record. Spanish airport design specialist luis vidal + architects are the concept architects. They are known for projects such as Heathrow Airport T2 (UK) and Zaragoza Airport (Spain).

Aecom has decades of experience working with Massport at Boston Logan and Terminal E, most recently with the completion of the A380 accommodation and overall terminal renovation project. A world leader in airport design and innovation, luis vidal + architects has the experience and design expertise to help the project realize its full potential.

Presence at Hay Festival Segovia 2017

An event in the run-up to the Segovia Hay Festival (22-24 September 2017), one of the most important meetings about culture in the world: Luis will talk to Simon Manley (the British Ambassador to Spain) on the 24th of September about the airports as the main gateaways into the XXI century cities. The two speakers will share their knowledge about traveling, architecture and diplomacy in this connected world.

Heathrow Terminal 2, also known as The Queen’s Terminal, is an airport terminal at Heathrow Airport. The new development was originally named Heathrow East Terminal, and occupies the sites where the previous Terminal 2 and the Queen’s Building stood.
The project opened on 4 June 2014. The original Terminal 2 opened in 1955 as the Europa Building and was the airport’s oldest terminal.
