This English architecture practice have been granted planning permission for a single storey extension in south east London. The extension’s appearance and detailing is a direct response to the well preserved 1930s architecture of the property. About Studio Octopi
This architecture firm is establishing itself as one of the UK’s leading emerging architecture practices. It grew through a series of small private residential commissions, and in more recent years has undertaken a number of high-profile projects, such as the refurbishment of Saatchi & Saatchi’s interior, and the Thames Baths Projects.
The architecture office works across the commercial, public and private sectors, and has won a series of accolades including the RIBA London Award in 2010 for its extension of a Victorian London terrace, Park Avenue South. Soon after, its Stratford Kiosks project received a ‘New London Award’ which celebrates London’s best architectural achievements.
Responding creatively and intellectually to specific briefs has emerged as the architect practice’s strength, inspired by the site’s historical and environmental conditions. Traditional expertise combined with an inventive and contemporary application of materials adds to its success. The architecture practice is currently engaged on two cultural projects: the Bradfield Greek Theatre and Delfina Foundation.
