Cologne Architects Practice Information

Peter Böhm Architekten architect studio based in Cologne (Köln)

German Architects

This Cologne architecture studio is the successor to the Böhm studio that was established in 1921 by Dominikus Böhm. In 1954, the studio was taken over by Gottfried Böhm. The design studio has established an international reputation for its work. In 1989, Peter became a joint partner of this studio.

In 2002, he founded his own architecture studio – PBA. His work is based on previous experience of major and complex projects, such as the Cologne Arena, Cologne’s Stadthaus (City Hall) and also smaller-scale, yet equally demanding projects, for example, the St. Wolfgang vicarage in Regensburg.

Peter integrates numerous guest lectures, seminars and exhibitions into his work, including repeated attendance at the Venice Architecture Biennale in Italy.

The conversion of old or listed buildings is among a wide range of different building projects, such as town halls, event halls, youth buildings, residential buildings and offices. This approach is maintained both for listed buildings and for remodelling of 1950s to 1970s’ extensions in need of updating for their use, operating costs and architecture.
