LDN Architects won a clutch of awards at the recent 2011 Scottish Design Awards ceremony.
Having been nominated in four categories, LDN won the top award in the Leisure/ Culture and Public Buildings categories for new extensions to the Usher Hall and Morningside Parish Church in Edinburgh as well as a commendation in the Education Building category for the new Business School at Edinburgh University. To crown these achievements, LDN also won the prestigious Architectural Practice of the Year award in recognition of the high standard of its work.
LDN Partner Mark Sidgwick said:
“To win these national awards is a fantastic achievement and a tribute to the talent and hard work of everyone in the practice. LDN’s Edinburgh office is particularly proud of their contribution to the Practice of the Year Award. We have a number of projects currently on site including a new arts centre in Greenock, the refurbishment of the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, a new visitor centre at Abbotsford and a new sports centre for George Heriot’s School and these were among the projects included in the Practice of the Year entry. We are very grateful to these clients and many others for their continuing support and trust in our skills”.
