Lariat Springs Residence in Texas, USA
Nestled into a steep hillside overlooking the picturesque Texas Hill Country, the Lariat Springs Residence seamlessly integrates modern design with its natural surroundings. Perched along a dramatic cliff edge, the home enjoys sweeping vistas while blending effortlessly with the rugged landscape of limestone outcroppings and clusters of oak and juniper trees. The design embraces the concept of connection—both to the outdoors and to the essence of the terrain—creating a harmonious flow between the natural environment and the built structure.
The approach to the residence sets the tone for its thoughtful design. From the covered carport, guests descend to an inviting open-air seating and dining area. Here, two stacked stone walls stretch from the entry steps, grounding the home into the hillside while framing breathtaking views of the sky and landscape. Above, an oculus in the ceiling introduces a touch of greenery from the planted roof, reinforcing the home’s seamless integration with its surroundings. The 3,140-square-foot interior spans both sides of the entry court, with the primary living areas occupying the western wing and more intimate spaces situated to the east. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the residence ensure that every room enjoys uninterrupted views of the lush, protected gardens and the expansive hills beyond.
The home’s design extends the material palette of warm wood, black steel, and textured stone from the exterior to the interior, fostering a sense of continuity. In spaces like the kitchen, finer veined stone adds an elevated touch, complementing the raw materials that define the structure. The proximity of the limestone walls enhances the feeling of being embedded within the hillside, creating a tranquil and grounded atmosphere.
Outdoor living is central to the experience of the Lariat Springs Residence. Below the primary living areas lies a grotto—a luxurious outdoor space spanning 2,257 square feet of covered areas and 2,280 square feet of terraces. Complete with a functional kitchen and built-in seating, this space invites residents to relax by the plunge pools and spa while taking in the natural beauty. A ledge below the grotto hosts a cascading waterfall and creek, adding to the serene ambiance. The property also features restored hiking paths, encouraging exploration and connection to the surrounding landscape.
The Lariat Springs Residence is more than a home—it is an experience that celebrates the beauty of the Texas Hill Country while providing a sanctuary that is both modern and timeless.
