The Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology (USTHB) is the largest university in Africa, located in the municipality of Bab Ezzouar, about 15 kilometers east of Algiers in Algeria.
Designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, the campus spans approximately 150 hectares. It was inaugurated in September 1974 by the then president and was originally named the University of Science and Technology of Algiers (USTA). Since its founding, the university has undergone significant organizational and structural development.

Algeria is located on the Mediterranean, east of Morocco and west of Tunisia and Libya. e-architect try to select what we feel are the major examples of Algerian Architecture.
We aim to include Algerian buildings that are either of excellent quality.
We cover completed Algeria buildings and new building designs. We also post architecture competitions across Algeria. Our focus is on contemporary Algerian buildings.

Bardo Cultural District in Algeria
In order to highlight the appointment of Constantine as the capital city of Arabic culture in 2015, the Wilaya Land Office launched an international competition for the design and construction of a new cultural hub in the Bardo District, in Constantine, Algeria.
