Picasso Towers, Spain’s latest luxury masterpiece designed by award-winning architect
This high-end waterfront development has been designed by award-winning Estudio Lamela consisting of three high towers set to house 213 luxury residences.
After completing Amsterdam’s Schiphol International airport extension or Real Madrid’s Bernabeu football stadium, Carlos Lamela and his firm Estudio Lamela are now working on the high-end Malaga’s Picasso Towers, in southern Spain.
This luxury waterfront development is considered the best project that has been presented in the history of this Spanish city and is set to change the heart of Malaga which in the last few years has experienced the quickest growth in Spain, positioning it as one of Europe’s top residential and holiday destinations.
A turn-key development in Spain’s coastline
According to Picasso Towers’ leading architect Carlos Lamela, this is the most important project of Spain’s coastline at the moment. This residential development is all about creating diaphanous, fresh architecture that reflects the new life of Malaga.
According to Lamela, Malaga has become one of the great cities of Europe and a worldwide example on how a medium size city can become a reference point on urban change.
The three towers had been designed with a vertical structure in order to make the most of space and offer a feeling of freedom. All of the residences between 1,421 and 4,348 sq. ft. will overlook the sea, with views that only a select few can enjoy.
The building´s shape resembles the movement of the nearby waves, as a result of the divergent overlapping of the building’s layers which reflect the natural light and create a dynamic appearance. The developer’s aim was to revamp standard constructions and create something that was striking and that represented the cosmopolitan character of Malaga.
Top Spanish developers behind Picasso Towers
This turn-key residential development will be located next to Antonio Banderas promenade, which has been named after the Hollywood actor, who is endorsing this project and was born in Malaga, like the renowned painter Pablo Picasso. This magnificent development is constructed by leading Spanish real estate company Metrovacesa and Sierra Blanca Estates Developments, the renowned expert in luxury properties in southern Spain.
The first tower will be called Living, and will feature three swimming pools, a premium spa, fitness centre, private cinema, playroom, co-working areas and a nursery, as well as the latest technology and security. Carlos Rodriguez, CEO at Sierra Blanca Estates Developments explains: “Buyers are drawn to the exceptional services that will be provided to all owners and residents in Picasso Towers, which are the epitome of true luxury residences”.
More than a quarter of the apartments have already been sold to buyers from Europe and the United States. Referring to the new purchasers, Daniel Raya, Land Development Manager at Metrovacesa said “They choose Picasso Towers for its high quality, prime location, astonishing sea views, the pleasant Mediterranean climate and the fact that Malaga is the fastest growing city in Spain at the moment.”
The first residences will be completed by the end of 2021, and the whole development is expected to be completed by 2023.
Picasso Towers Malaga to become Europe’s residential elite
The €225m development includes luxury penthouses priced at €3m, designed by renowned architect Carlos Lamela
Picasso Towers is a turnkey development in Malaga, which in recent years has undergone a true makeover thanks to Spanish and international investment.
Picasso Towers is the latest addition to Malaga and Europe’s residential world-class choice. The exclusive €225 million development, created by Sierra Blanca Estates and Metrovacesa, involves three towers featuring 213 luxurious apartments.
This project is a reflection of the renaissance that Malaga has undergone in recent years. Just in 2018, Malaga’s economy grew 4.47%, positioning the city as one of Europe’s top residential and holiday destinations. The popularity of the city and Costa del Sol region has soared due to national and international investment, and it’s no surprise that Brits are the main international buyers of second homes on the Costa del Sol, followed by North Americans, Germans, Belgians, Dutch and Scandinavians.
More than a quarter of the apartments are already sold to buyers from Europe and the United States. Referring to the new purchasers, Daniel Raya, Land Development Manager at Spanish leading real estate Metrovacesa said “They choose Picasso Towers for its high quality, prime location, astonishing sea views, the pleasant Mediterranean climate and the fact that Malaga is the fastest growing city in Spain at the moment.”
Malaga is a city with 320 days of sun a year, an asset that Picasso Towers have harnessed in both the exterior and interior of the towers via a detailed study measuring sunlight according to seasons and time frames.
The first tower will be called Living, and will feature three swimming pools, a premium spa, fitness centre, private cinema, playroom, co-working area and nursery, as well as the latest technology and security. Carlos Rodriguez, CEO at Sierra Blanca Estates Developments explains: “Buyers are drawn to the exceptional services that will be provided to all owners and residents in Picasso Towers, which are the epitome of true luxury residences”.
The three towers will be finely decorated by the award-winning interior designer Jaime Beriestain and designed by architect Carlos Lamela, who is well-known for designing Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, Madrid’s new Barajas airport terminal and the renovation of Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu football stadium.
The first phase of Picasso Towers apartments will be ready by the end of 2021, and the whole resort is expected to be completed by 2023.
