Located in the neighborhood of Vila Mariana, São Paulo, the Cristo Rei school is part of the region´s growth history. The school was established in the 30´s on one of the neighborhood´s main street.
The schools facilities scattered in old houses and buildings bought and refurbished to meet the ever growing demand for student space.
The project consists of the renewal of existing buildings and a new building, using all of the remainder building-area permitted by law. The implantation of this new block aims to organize the school as a whole.
The existing courtyard, kept in the new layout as reference for the organization of the architectural complex (new and old). It is restructured and consolidated as a collective-use courtyard.
