FARMVILLE
This project, represents a new stage in the consolidation of the Paredes Agricultural Cooperative future. By integrating the overall project “Paredes: Creative City for Design – Design Hub”, in partnership with Paredes City Hall, the Cooperative hosts other functions of creative and multidisciplinary nature, becoming a center for the dissemination and promotion of creative capacity of young entrepreneurs in the municipality of Paredes, and fulfilling its goals of supporting farmers involved.
It is intended that the new building will accommodate, in an integrated approach, embodied in a multifunctional space, four main components connected to the Cooperative Services, the Market of the Earth, the home / Creative Workshops and a Design Incubator for Furniture Design and Decorative Arts, in a total of about 2820 m2 of area, adding 2 950 m2 of space for parking.
As extracted from the Final Report of the Jury, “the proposal FARMVILLE, submitted by AND-RÉ architecture is globally (…) the proposal that best interprets the program of the Cooperative Agricultural and incubator for the Furniture Design and Decorative Arts and Creative Workshops.”
This is a “refined proposal that (…) incorporates a contemporary image and identity.”
“The project shows a peaceful relationship with the environment, linking the program to the identity of streets and urban events, linking densities, altimetry, types and streams, linking the most deprived areas of the program to the streets of most residential character (north), and areas of greatest affirmation / highlights of the program with areas of increased flow of pedestrian and urban environment (south and west). The permanence of the Cooperative at the same location facilitates recognition and identification (collective memory).”
“The autonomy of the volumes-hangars, which incorporate the various valences of the program allows future flexibility suited to contemporary programmatic weightlessness.” In the same way that “the deployment of buildings, allowing pedestrian crossings transverse permeability ensures urban and social experiences of proximity. ”
