ODA has designed Lorimer House and the Copper Lofts, a residential development at 555 Broadway in Brooklyn’s Broadway Triangle. The project brings together a 270 unit tower and a boutique collection of 66 homes, connected by an elevated bridge. This unified presence establishes a new architectural anchor for the neighborhood.
As part of the larger 555 Broadway development, 30 percent of the units are designated as affordable, reinforcing ODA’s belief that strong architectural design should be accessible across income levels and contribute meaningfully to urban life. Their commitment to high quality design is rooted in a contextual approach to each site, ensuring that every project responds to its neighborhood and supports a more equitable model of housing in New York City.
ODA approached the design with careful consideration of the surrounding context, shaping the architecture to reflect the character and fabric of the area. Rounded corners soften the triangular massing while light gray brick, horizontal metal bands, and vertical piers bring rhythm to the façade.
Integrated planters and landscaped setbacks extend greenery into the pedestrian realm, connecting buildings and streets while dissolving boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Three landscaped courtyards draw daylight and air deep into the block, offering moments of connection and privacy. These moves reflect ODA’s ongoing ambition to expand the public realm and reimagine how dense urban housing can support community life. Through 555 Broadway, ODA demonstrates how thoughtful, contextual design can contribute to a more equitable and livable city.
Interiors by Durukan Design continue this approach with a warm and tactile palette of terracotta, sage, and beige that flows into outdoor terraces and gardens. Residents have access to more than 40,000 square feet of amenities, including coworking lounges, a fitness center, children’s playrooms, pet spa, and multiple rooftop terraces with views of Manhattan.
Set within Williamsburg’s evolving Broadway Triangle, Lorimer House and the Copper Lofts reflect ODA’s vision of human centered architecture and contextual urban design. By weaving together materiality, landscape, livability, and equitable housing, the project creates a new community hub for contemporary city living.
