The new Barbuto at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge brings Jonathan Waxman’s iconic restaurant to the edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park with a warm, modern-industrial dining room that blurs the line between indoors and out. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls open to the park’s lush landscape, filling the 130-seat space with natural light and framing views of greenery that are echoed by abundant indoor plantings.
The design pairs exposed concrete columns and visible HVAC with aged wood plank flooring, custom “bomb” pendant lights, and a mix of natural leather and textured fabric seating for a look that’s both refined and relaxed. Clean-lined furniture, simple table settings, and a calm, neutral palette keep the focus on food, drink, and conversation while aligning with the understated aesthetic of Barbuto in Greenwich Village.
A 20-foot bar anchors the room, backed by shelves of spirits and greenery, and offers an inviting perch for cocktails or a full meal. Guests can choose from a variety of experiences, including an intimate private dining room, a comfortable lounge, high-top bar dining, and a chef’s counter that brings the theater of the open kitchen to the forefront. The result is a casual, friendly environment that feels effortlessly connected to its iconic Brooklyn waterfront setting.
