Mnevniki 3 Towers – Russia Commercial Buildings
STONE Mnevniki is located in the Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki district of Moscow, on a slightly elevated stretch of the Moskva River embankment surrounded by mature trees. The project is conceived as part of a new urban waterfront that will extend public access to the river and create a new destination within this part of the city. On the opposite bank lies a large golf course, while Fili Park is located further to the east, placing the complex within a broad green riverside context.
Designing architecture on the waterfront always means working with the skyline. Here, the project is based on the dialogue between two contrasting volumes. Each building has a distinct identity, yet together they form a coherent ensemble and establish a new visual code for the area.
The first building rises above the embankment as a light, elongated glass volume. Its strict vertical silhouette is wrapped with metal lamellas that catch reflections of the city, the water, and the trees, giving the façade a changing and atmospheric character. Monumental arches cut through the glazed body of the building and become one of the key elements of the composition. These arches act as spatial markers and visual gateways toward the river.
The second building is more horizontal and more compact in character. Dark steel bands emphasise its geometry, while the regular rhythm of heavy columns at the recessed lower levels gives it a sense of stability and weight. From the third floor upward, the volume bridges across itself, creating a more dynamic composition that changes depending on the viewing angle.
A large through-arch opening from the street leads toward the lobby of the public and business centre and frames a long view toward the river and the golf course beyond. This gives the complex visual depth and strengthens its connection to the landscape.
The landscape design is conceived as an extension of the architecture. Both buildings stand on a shared paved surface laid out in a triangular pattern, creating the impression of folded origami paper. Benches, sculptures, and other small architectural elements continue this language through angular forms that echo the façades and turn the open space into a unified public environment.
STONE Mnevniki shows how contrasting architectural forms can work together to create a clear and memorable riverside ensemble, where the buildings, the public realm, and the landscape are conceived as parts of one spatial composition.
