Vinoteca Confirms Opening As Momentum Grows Around £300m Regeneration Of Borough Yards

16th of November 2021, London – Vinoteca will open a new 95 cover restaurant and wine bar at Borough Yards, a new shopping, dining and creative district in London Bridge.

Opening in early 2022, the design of Vinoteca at Borough Yards will take inspiration from the area’s historic architecture. SPPARC, the architects behind Borough Yards, have worked carefully to celebrate the rich Victorian heritage of the arches by repurposing the cathedral like brick structures into exciting dining and retail spaces.

The arches are framed with large steel and glass windows and grand walkways that welcome visitors into a place where a slice of history seamlessly blends with modern architecture and culture. The industrial architecture housing the wine bar and restaurant will be complemented by oak parquet flooring and dark ironworks.

Mirroring Borough Market’s long-held ethos of promoting sustainable and ethically-grown food, Vinoteca at Borough Yards will boast a wide range of sustainably made wines from a regularly updated list of over 200 varieties.

Momentum has been steadily growing at Borough Yards among retail and leisure operators as workers and tourists flood back into the area. More than 16 million people pass through the area each year – thanks to London Bridge Station and Borough’s historic food market.

A flurry of new food and beverage signings to Borough Yards – including Harts Group, Paul Smith, Butchies and Everyman Cinema – will help unlock several new streets created to wrap around a substantial 60,000 sq ft development for serviced office pioneer, The Office Group.

Designed by award-winning architects SPPARC, the firm behind the £1bn revamp of Olympia London, Borough Yards will provide over 116,000 sq ft of retail, leisure, workspace and public realm once completed.

The £300m regeneration, which is being delivered by real estate investor MARK, will also see three historic London streets – Dirty Lane, Clink Yard, Stonecutters Yard – revived.

MARK, formerly known as Meyer Bergman, is also revitalising the historic Whiteley’s shopping centre in west London to create a landmark mixed-use scheme blending luxury apartments and a flagship Six Senses hotel.
