The over arching aim of the proposal has been to identify and enhance the Heritage values through careful restoration and secure the long-term future of the building through the delivery of optimum valuable use. The proposed design respects and complements the iconic Grade I Listed Building and is carefully planned to utilize existing historic fabric, entrances and circulation patterns of Aston Webb’s original design.
The Scheme Comprises:-
– 100 bedrooms and suites all with exceptional views
– A 1000m² Penthouse Royal Suite with beautiful terraces and gardens
– The proposed Hotel has 3 Restaurants, Bars and Lounges, a Fine Dining Restaurant, a Brasserie on the first bridging floor over the Sovereign Arch with stunning views of The Mall and Buckingham Place to the West and a panoramic view of Trafalgar Square to the East
The proposed design creates 2 new basements outside the Listed Building envelope but within the demise lines of the site to create column free space for the larger spaces synonymous with 5* Hotels therefore not affecting the listed structure. The basement provides Ballroom and Meeting Rooms for 300 plus, Spa with 6 treatment rooms, Gym with Swimming Pool 25m in length.
The scheme also provides a single large residential apartment and a Private Members Club.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed by early 2016.

The ceremonial gateway – a Grade I listed building – between The Mall and Trafalgar Square was built as a memorial to Queen Victoria. The lease is to development company Prime Investors Capital (PIC).
PIC wants to transform the building into a five star 100-bedroom hotel complete with royal and presidential suites, a ballroom, spa and fine dining restaurant. Residential apartments are also planned for the first and second floors on the north side of the arch.

The Admiralty Arch deal is dependent on Westminster City Council granting planning permission for the conversion of the building.
The government stated they had secured a good price for the building and dismissed claims it would become the preserve of the super rich. “It’s a really great shame that in the 100 years since it was opened there has been virtually no public access to the arch outside of government officials. It was clear that without significant renovation, the arch was at risk of falling into disrepair. This would have been a tragic waste of a historic building. We were determined to find a real purpose to Admiralty Arch, one that would preserve it for future generations and would generate value for the taxpayer.”
The arch was commissioned by King Edward VII as a tribute to his mother Queen Victoria and was completed in 1912.
