Tel Aviv Architecture – Introduction

Tel Aviv is located in the west of the country, located on the Mediterranean Sea. It is the second largest city in Israel, forming the country’s economic and contemporary cultural heart.

Tel Aviv was founded by the Jewish community on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa in 1909. Tel Aviv’s White City, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, comprises the world’s largest concentration of Bauhaus buildings. Tel Aviv has the second-largest economy in the Middle East after Dubai. Tel Aviv is currently the fifth-most-visited city in the Middle East and Africa. It is known as “the city that never sleeps”.

The city also has good contemporary architecture – with significant recent buildings being – Design Museum Holon, Rothschild Tower, Tel Aviv Museum of Art Extension, Peace Peres House, Jaffa and the Museum + Archive – Jabotinsky Center. These buildings are all possible to visit on our Israeli Architecture Tours.
