Update on II stage of the international contest of “Russia” park

PARTICIPANTS OF THE II STAGE OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION VISITED THE TERRITORY OF THE FUTURE PARK “RUSSIA”

The Directorate of the Park “Russia” and participants of the II stage of the international contest have visited the site for the Park “Russia”.

The representatives of the Directorate of the Park “Russia” together with the organizer (RuGBC) of the international contest for the best concept and best financial model of the theme Park “Russia” have held field meeting with the participants of the II stage of the contest.

The meeting took place on the territory of the future Park “Russia” in the urban district of Domodedovo, Moscow region. The territory was visited by representatives of all five consortiums involved in the process of developing competitive works.

The main attention of the participants was paid to such characteristics of the territory, as transport accessibility of the landscape and terrain, the location of the nearest settlements, hydrological conditions of the area and other.In the end of the meeting it was decided to hold a round table discussion with the same team to discuss current questions about the contest.

In the office of the Directorate of the Park “Russia” was held a round table discussion with participants of the II stage of the international конкурса.On the basis of the field meeting that took place on the eve on the territory of the Park “Russia” in the urban district of Domodedovo, Moscow region, was held the round table discussion with the Directorate of the Park, “Russia”, the organizer of the international competition (RuGBC) and representatives of the consortiums participating in the second stage of the contest.

Participants of the round table discussed the scope and composition of the contest works, the structure of the future concept of the Park, different scenarios to calculate financial model, the procedure of submission of the competitive works and selection of the winner and finalists, as well as possible variants of future cooperation in the realization of the project.

In accordance with the tender documents, development of concepts and financial models of Park “Russia” will last till December 12, 2013, then the expert Council will proceed to their evaluation. Meeting of the tender Commission for determination of the winner and the finalists of the international contest is planned to be on December 20, 2013.

Park “Russia” Contest

Participants for the II stage of the international contest of “Russia” park has been selected

The Jury meeting of the International Contest for the concept and financial model of “Russia” Theme Park has now been held.

The meeting was attended by members of the Jury and the Expert Council, as well as representatives of “Russia” Theme Park. The experts presented their conclusions on the results of evaluation of application documents.

A total of 26 applications have been submitted. After applications review for their compliance with contest documentation and further evaluation by the Expert Council only 18 applications were admitted.

All the experts unanimously agreed on 5 applications out of the 18, which have obtained the greatest number of votes and were declared the participants of the second stage of the International Contest for the concept and financial model of “Russia” Park and will start developing the contest proposals till the closing date of the Contest in December 2013.

Participants of the II stage of the International Contest are:

• Citymakers (Russia)
• Cushman & Wakefield (Russia)
• HOSPER (Netherlands)
• Mosproject-5 (Russia)

The registration for the International Contest was held from 6th of August till 1st of September, 2013 on the official website of the “Russia” Theme Park. Total of 180 registered applicants from 41 countries. The list of registered applicants includes companies from Russia, United States, Netherlands, Italy, England, Japan and other countries.

All registered applicants had to submit their applications consisting of confirmation of their experience during the last five years in implementation of projects compatible with “Russia” Park by their key parameters, as well as the information about consortium and the consortium leader, motivation letter and portfolio of the projects.

The Jury began to choose the finalists for the second stage of the “Park Russia” Competition

Expert Council and the Jury began to choose the finalists for the second stage of the international competition for the best concept and best financial model of the park “Russia”. According to the tender documentation, Expert Council shall rate all Contest Proposals and present them to the Jury.

The first meeting of the Jury was held on September 20 in Russian Geographical Society. The members of the Expert Council expressed their opinion on the Contest and talked about the process of evaluation of portfolios.

All the applications were evaluated in accordance with the following criteria:

• Experience with projects similar to park “Russia”
• The ecological component of the project
• The number of implemented projects
• Ability to develop the financial model of the park
• Others

The members of the Expert Council reviewed all the application documents in detail and prepared a qualification rating.

Note that, the result of the first stage of the Competition was 180 registrations from 41 countries.
In the near future the Jury will determine the finalists for the second stage of the international competition “Park “Russia “.

“Russia” Theme Park is the first entertainment and educational park where visitors will have the reason to stay for more than one-two days. All existing theme and amusement parks are focused on one-day visit and are not designed for users who want to spend more than a week. The aim of “Russia” Park is to change the concept of the theme parks, combining entertainment, educational and sports areas so as to become the first recreation complex, capable of retaining visitors for more than two days, a week or even more.

“Russia” Park is destined to become a unique tourist cluster, oriented in both domestic and foreign tourists. Thereby the guideline of the “Russia” Park is the ideal place to get to know our country better and to discover Russia again. For visitors of all ages and income there are many reasons not only to come to the park during the holidays or vacation but stay there for a longer time than in any other theme parks because of proposed structure of the “Russia” Park. Such an approach would make the “Russia” Park unique in its kind – it will create a powerful and positive information event in the international media.

“Russia” Park will become a trademark of the country, where the promotion of healthy living, entertainment and educative functions are closely related to educational and recreational infrastructure, which, moreover, will be commercially attractive. The park will fully reflect the positive developments in the Russian society in recent years. “Russia” Park will not only demonstrate the unique geographical, historical and cultural resources of the Russian Federation, not only will implement the most advanced entertainment and travel technology, but also will define a new global trend: the theme park, where you can come on holiday with a family.

•International airport “Domodedovo” is located directly in the district;
•Federal highways “M4 Don” and “Moscow small ring” are nearby the district;
•Paveletskaya and Big Circuition railroads are close to the district;
•The distance from the center of the “Russia” Theme Park to the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) is about 50 km;
•The distance from the center of the “Russia” Theme Park to Paveletskya railway station is about 70 km;
•The distance from the center of the “Russia” Theme Park to the Moscow city center is about 75 km.
