Terrace Transformation in Cambridge, England

The Terrace Transformation is the creation of a new rear extension, internal alterations and a new loft dormer. A rear extension enabled the creation of a new family kitchen space with dining room overlooking the courtyard garden.

The extension although modest has a loft airy feel with a stepped flat roof growing in height to add to the feel of space.

Incorporating a green roof with rainwater harvesting hidden under the raised patio the flat roof incorporates an oversized large glazing vision fixed rooflight to bring light flooding centrally into the room.

A focus on the use of natural materials creates a soft and inviting interior finish, buff re-claimed brickwork and lime mortar, visable natural douglas fir joists with a soft white wash and acoustic Troldekt panels installed between the joists in a natural tone enhance this soft interior whilst functioning to aid with the room acoustics.

Oversized Sliding doors onto the garden flush to the floor are finished in a natural aluminium complimenting the colour tones, Large format porcelanosa flooring tiles used internally extending to the outside raised patio. Externally a natural finished accoya pergola allows for privacy and shading to the rear.

Internally some bespoke douglas fir joinery is highlighted with a sense of fun and pops of orange to the supporting steelwork.
Side access leads to a new functional boot room with built in bench and cupboards leading to a central shower and bespoke sauna with views overlooking the garden.
