With Earth Day approaching, we share information about SGA and how they are helping to build a more sustainable future:
Two Drydock, Boston, MA
The firm’s latest project, Two Drydock, is equipped with forward-thinking design that prioritizes environmental responsibility, energy efficiency and a healthy work environment for its tenants. Completed in 2020, this 225,000 square foot iconic tower now serves as the “gateway” to Boston’s emerging Drydock District, functioning as a corporate and mixed-use building for the region’s leading technology companies.
Positioned to exceed LEED Gold certification, this project features rainwater reclamation, an energy recovery system, a high performance curtain wall façade, and a single-stream recycling program. It also includes floor-to-ceiling glazing for abundant daylight, utilizes low-emitting materials to improve air quality, and has taken resilient measures in response to the area’s rising sea levels.
In doing so, the building successfully optimizes water and energy use – while significantly reducing its overall carbon footprint – furthering SGA’s commitment to sustainable excellence.
As a leading multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm, SGA completed Two Drydock – a 225,000 square foot, 13-story iconic tower – in 2020, which now serves as the “gateway” to Boston’s emerging Drydock District. Two Drydock is equipped with forward-thinking design and architecture that’s focused on the user experience, incorporating flexible, open work environments for the region’s leading technology companies.
Featuring an abundance of natural light, the space also includes collaborative meeting areas, along with a first-level cafè that doubles as an integrated workplace option for groups or solo work.

Beyond the workspace, Two Drydock sets the standard for the district’s public realm expression, providing a uniquely curated retail experience, an urban plaza to serve the community, three levels of on-site parking, and a roof amenity deck with sweeping views of the city’s skyline. Anchored by a neighborhood rich in industrial tradition, Two Drydock links the area’s past to its present community in the heart of a growing business hub.
