Coffee Plaza, Hamburg, Germany : Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP

The Coffee Plaza in Hamburg’s HafenCity is planned as a unique center for international coffee commerce and related lines of business. The project encompasses the design of the headquarters for one of the largest coffee trading companies worldwide and two office buildings with rentable areas as well as a public plaza and underground parking.
Carrillo Residence, Pacific Palisades, California, USA : Ehrlich Architects

This luxurious Californian house occupies a long narrow site on the rim of Santa Monica Canyon with views of the Pacific Ocean. Designed for a young couple with two children, the house addresses the formal and informal needs of the family while taking advantage of the Southern California climate and views. The orientation of the house reinforces the geometry of the site.
Bunker 599, The Netherlands : Atelier de Lyon | Rietveld Landscape

A seemingly indestructible bunker with monumental status is sliced open. The design thereby opens up the minuscule interior of one of NDW’s 700 bunkers, the insides of which are normally cut off from view completely.

The building is constructed at a junction of various landscapes with the different characters of land, water, forest and reed fields. To serve a wide audience there is an information room, classroom, panorama-room, restaurant and representative meeting-room: the new icon of Almere.
8 House, Ørestad, Copenhagen, Denmark : BIG, architects. 21 Oct

Named 8 House because of its angular figure-of-eight plan, BIG’s building dips and rises at the corners to create a dramatically sloping roof form. The complex contains a mixture of housing, shops, offices and a kindergarten all connected by sloping walkways that stretch down to a central courtyard.
