DGLa Architects France – Practice Information

Architect offices based in Montpellier & Paris, France

According to the architects, in English (scroll down for French original) :

“Our convictions

If architecture is an art and a technique, it is also a thought on the world we inhabit and that we transform, and its practice leads architects to forge convictions on how to create the new in the already there.

At DGLa, the practical application is not exempt from a theoretical reflection that we conduct symmetrically. It can remain discreet and not always be the subject of communication to the outside. This is why it is useful here, to explain our philosophy, to speak of scale, context and emotion. ”

Ladder

With regard to the projects it studies, the agency is faced with all scales of construction. In situations that relate to the territorial scale, as in the manufacture of a simple object of furniture, it is the “correctness” which must be the measure of everything.

The scale is defined by the relationship to humans: understanding this definition in its mathematical sense as well as in its relational sense is the basis of the accuracy that we are looking for. It is moreover a true path of creation to always create for the human person, according to him, by him and for him.
