Martin Modern Apartments in Singapore
In today’s evolving global residential landscape, the dire issues of attention to sustainability, access to open green space where social-distancing is possible, and a need for a more eco-conscious living are the newest trends that influence where and how we live.
Now more than ever, the world needs to cut back on carbon emissions, waste and the creation of unnatural materials that damage the environment. In tandem, the creation and planning of architecture need to be mindful of innovations that both manifest outstanding design and have environmentally-conscious attributes. With myriad abilities to work in various spaces and industries, developers, businesspersons and investors will look to upgrade their spaces and buildings, especially luxury residential real estate.
Akin to the design-driven sustainability-focused architecture of tomorrow, ADDP Architects, the award-winning architecture firm founded in 1986 and headquartered in Singapore, is spearheading the future of environmentally-conscious residential architecture with the design for its new Modern Martin project, two 30-storey towers that uphold the highest standards of sustainable architecture. The Martin Modern follows the award-winning sustainability measures for ADDP’s lauded “Treehouse” and “Clement Canopy” projects.
A home within a botanical garden and standing on a land size of 1.6 hectares, Modern Martin’s two 30-storey towers are engulfed with lush, green gardens by award-winning landscape architect ICN Design Interactional. The structures themselves are limited to a 20% footprint of the entire site, creating more room for greenery and access to nature for its inhabitants.
There are 15 gardens and lawns and well over 200 species of tropical trees and plants rooted throughout the various levels of the grounds. The Martin Modern project includes a forest trail, maze, bio pond, bamboo grove and aquatic garden between the two towers, along with “secret gardens” on the 36-floor rooftop of each building. ADDP Architects collaborated with Yip Yuen Hong of ip;li Architects for the design of the project.
The tower blocks are orientated to allow for unobstructed views towards internal landscaped space and provide a distant view of Marina Bay area for the higher floors.
In addition, roof gardens are provided at both towers which provide enhanced greenery to the roof space. Generous windows design promotes good ventilation in every indoor unit. Generous private enclosed spaces (PES) and balconies of each unit provide chances to extend the indoor living to outdoor space and to appreciate the tranquil setting.
Having been the receipt of the Guinness World Record, World’s Largest Vertical Garden (2014), Best Innovative Green Building (Gold), MIPIM Asia Awards, ‘BCI Asia’s Top 10 Architectural Firms’, ADDP Architects is now officially unveiling its latest residential project, Martin Modern.
