A key milestone has been reached on a new mixed-use building at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston – as the venue’s biggest event of the year gets underway.
Robertson is building the £4.8m event space for the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS), a membership organisation which runs the Royal Highland Show.

And now, a topping out ceremony has been held to mark the progress on the facility, which is due to complete in spring 2020 ahead of the 180th Royal Highland Show.
Featuring around 18,800 sq. ft. of flexible space, the new facility will give RHASS the ability to accommodate conferences and meetings. In addition, a raised viewing gallery will offer enhanced views over the main show arena.
RHASS and Robertson representatives at the Royal Highland Centre:
David Cairns, Managing Director, Robertson Central East, said: “With this year’s Royal Highland Show just getting underway, it’s particularly fitting that we’re celebrating a key milestone on a project which will greatly enhance the venue in the years ahead.
“Since beginning work in February of this year we have made significant progress and are on track to hand over the building next spring. The new pavilion is at the centre of RHASS’ plans to develop The Royal Highland Centre and it will play a key role in catering for increased demand.”
The Royal Highland Centre is Scotland’s largest indoor and outdoor venue, attracting over one million visitors each year to more than 200 events.
Robertson is building new facilities at the Royal Highland Centre:
The new pavilion is one of a number of projects being delivered in the Edinburgh region by Robertson, who have a regional office in nearby Ratho. Current projects include the redevelopment of Raeburn Place, the sports ground which hosted the world’s first international rugby match, and the refurbishment of 10 George Street in Edinburgh’s city centre.
