In the design, it is aimed to express the structural elements that reflect the architectural character of Mardin city such as terracing, use of semi-open space, portico solutions, and create solutions compatible with topography and climate in a modern architectural language. Cambridge Central Mosque
The urban intervention of inserting a mosque capable of welcoming 1000 worshipers within a low rise, residential neighbourhood, without dominating it, is masterful. Its presence is clear but modest, considering the size of the mosque relative to the two storey terrace houses around it.

Mosque of the Late Mohamed Abdulkhaliq Gargash in Dubai
A contemporary place of worship quietly masterful in its use of form, materiality and controlled natural lighting to create a sense of calm and spiritual connection. A pared down form that eschews traditional Islamic typology, with a design narrative to transition the worshipper from the outer everyday world to an inner spiritual experience.

Mosque of Prishtina Design
Typical mosque elements like the dome, minaret, portico are incrusted in our collective memory as the expression of the Islamic religious building. We used all those elements; we redefined them again, and assembled them in the new way, coherent to our contemporary expression and aspirations. The mosque of Prishtina will be the building the people of Kosovo will identify with.

Central Mosque Competition Entry
For the architects, the design solution for The Central Mosque of Prishtina has as its foundation the notion that Prishtina is a bridge between the East and The West. It could not be a entirely eastern mosque because of Prishtina’s various Western influences, nor could it be a structure modeled after the latest Western trends in design as Prishtina has strong roots in Islamic Culture and history, primarily an Eastern phenomenon.
